Madison Golf Show Friday Update
Madison, Wisconsin Golf Show review for Friday March 11th. The Greater Madison Golf Show kicked off today at Hitters Sportsplex in Middleton. Attendance was at a very high level from start to finish and the deals/specials available to golfers were second to none. As I walked around the show I noticed a few very unique products/vendors that stood out among the standard golf companies. Of course I’ll mention the Birdie Book, Wisconsin’s Statewide Discount Golf Book that now consists of over 180+ golf courses each offering 2 coupons but there are definitely a couple others that caught my eye.
1. One was a backyard golf, badminton type game. We all love bean bags and maybe the ladder golf game but this was very cool. Picture a golf ball attached to the end of a badminton web. That’s your ammunition. Than combine that with a bulls eye type net as your target that you place 15 feet or so from your hitting area. Simply take your wedge and chip the badminton ball at your target to score points based on your level of accuracy. Being in the golf business I get to see a lot of new innovations and not much forces me to take a second look. This did. Unfortunately we were too busy supplying Madison with Birdie Books to where I could catch the company name but I’ll make sure to give you all the company and product info in my Saturday update. It looks like a great game that people of all ages can enjoy and I encourage everyone to at least give it a look.
2. Nevada Bob’s Golf Store… I know I’ve mentioned this one is previous posts but this is down right amazing. To start their booth is the size of a small home located in the epicenter of the Greater Madison, WI Golf Show. Just like any golf show you’ll find a few different club and golf merchandise retailers all selling similar items. I would just like to say for the record I feel bad for those stores that have to try and compete with Joel, & Nevada Bob’s. You can find the very best golf equipment, clothing, and accessories for basically half OFF BOB’s. Yes, HALF OFF! Whether you need a new set of irons or just a glove I will assure you that their prices are untouchable. The selection is so wide you can even purchase used clubs in amazing condition for prices you would never believe. The Birdie Book booth happens to be just across the isle from Nevada Bob’s and I find myself drooling time to time. If you need anything GOLF please swing by the Greater Madison Golf Show this weekend and don’t miss this booth. Nevada Bob’s Madison and Joel and his gang will not disappoint.
3. “My” Birdie Book…”Save the best for last” as they say! This product/publication/book is something every Wisconsin Golfer should have in their golf bag. We’ve all seen discount green cards, expensive midwest area golf packages, and other local green fee specials but nothing like this. The Birdie Book has taken the positives from both the Green Card and the Midwest Classic and combined them to create the ultimate golfers green fee savings book. The courses span our great state of Wisconsin and each offers 2 very aggressive coupons. In addition the Birdie Book also offers it’s customers 7 top of the line golf stores across the state also featuring 20% OFF & other specials. Most people look at the book and say “it’s only $20.00?”. Yes, that’s it Wisconsin. Created for golfers by golfers the Birdie Book gives you all of the benefits of the Midwest Classic Golf Tour Package with the price tag of a 6 course regional golf card. Just $20.00. The Birdie Book will give you the opportunity cut your green fees in half at many respectable golf courses from Madison, to the Dells, to Minocqua. Reccommended by the Wisconsin State Journal, the Birdie Book booth is a must see at the Greater Madison Wisconsin Golf Show. Stop by and say high and register to win a Wedgewood hybrid iron/wood.
Hope to see you this weekend Wisconsin!
